Daughter makes Gayle Blush!

Bengaluru, 22 April 2016: Chris Gayle may have apologised to Australian television sports presenter Mel McLaughlin for his “don’t blush baby” comment that he made while being interviewed by her during this year’s Big Bash League but the West Indies batsman remains unapologetic about the incident itself.

In a recent interview to a sports channel he had said in jest ‘don’t blush baby’ when he was asked about his favourite pick up line. On Tuesday, the left-handed batsman claimed on social media that he had named his first daughter ‘Blush’.

Gayle broke the news of his partner Natasha Berridge expecting their first child and flew back to Windies to be with her, taking a short break from the ongoing Indian Premier League where he plays for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The Jamaican posted the picture of the couple on Instagram along with a small message.

“We would like to welcome the arrival of our beautiful daughter ‘Blush’ to this world 2 hours ago, Thank God. #GoodHealth&Strength – The greatest gift and feelings anyone would want. Great experience witnesses every bit of it. Have to give my blessings to Tasha, strong woman.”

Gayle flew back to Jamaica on Monday and he will be missing two games for Royal Challengers. The one was against Mumbai Indians on Wednesday while the second match, against Rising Pune Supergiants, is on Friday in Pune.

In January, Gayle was at the centre of a controversy in the BBL after his interview with boundary-line reporter McLaughlin. Gayle apologised the next day for his "simple joke" and McLaughlin said she had been left "embarrassed, angry and upset" by the interview.

Gayle was fined $10,000 by Cricket Australia for the remarks but the West Indian said his comments had been "blown way out of proportion".
