Moodubelle: Catechism Day celebrated at St. Lawrence Parish

Moodubelle, 13 March 2017: Catechism day was celebrated on Sunday 12 March 2017 at St. Lawrence Parish Moodubelle. The Eucharistic mass was celebrated in the morning at 8.00 am after the way of the cross at the church attended by the catechism students, teachers and parishioners.


Main celebrant Rev. Fr. Lawrence D’Souza was accompanied by Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas, Asst. Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Lawrence Cutinho and Minor Seminary Director Rev. Fr. Alphonse D’leema. The liturgy was conducted by the catechism students. Fr, Lawrence delivered a meaningful homily especially meant for the catechism students who successfully completed the year’s catechism classes.


Fr. Clement at the end of the mass thanked Fr. Lawrence gracing the occasion. Fr. Clement also thanked the students for attending the classes and all the teachers for their contribution.


After the mass refreshments was served to the students. The formal function started at 10:00 pm at the St. Lawrence P.U. College auditorium. Rev. Fr. Lawrence D’Souza was the chief guest. Rev. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas presided over the program. Other guests and dignitaries on the Dias were Rev. Fr. Lawrence Cutinho, Rev. Fr. Alphonse D’leema Parish Council vice president Vincent Fernandes, Parish Council Secretary Latha D’Mello and Catechism Coordinator Shanthi Alva.


Catechism students from 1st standard to 10th standard presented dances and skits based on the bible, which entertained the large audience who included students, parents and other parishioners. The prizes were given away to the students who maintained 100percent attendance and the toppers in the catechism exam. The catechism teachers were also given gifts as a token of appreciation.
