Udupi: Muhurat of Jerry Dias’s Kannada Movie

Udupi, 15 May 2012: The muhurat of Kannada movie ‘Mahanadi’ a story of a woman from fishing community, was initiated by Shirur Mutt Shri Laxmivara Theertha Swamiji on Sunday. The story is written and the movie is being directed by state award winner Krishnappa Uppur and the movie is produced by Udupi’s popular builder Jerry Vincent Dias and his son Glen Dias with a cost of about rupees 5 crores.

Shiroor Shri lit the lamp for initiating the shooting of the movie and Mangalore Neermarga Church Parish Priest Godfrey Saldanha started the camera. Entrepreneur Pramodh Madhwaraj clapped. On this occasion the main cast of the movie Sanjana Gandhi, Dilip Raj, Villain Muniraj and other were present.

Chief guests present on the occasion were Santhekatte Church Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Philip Nerry, Manipal University Vice Chancellor Dr. H.S. Ballal, builders Purushottam Shetty, Manohar Shetty, Bhuvanendra Kidiyoor, Former MLA U.R. Sabhapathi and Congress leader M.A. Gafoor.

Music director A.M. Neil, Photographer Chandra Belamangala, Shrinivasa K. Babu, Choreographer nagesh Kalai, Art director Purushottam Adve, Song writer Kathyayini Kunjibettu, Actors; Rakesh, Suryakiran and others were present. Producer Jerry Vincent Dias welcomed the guests and the gathering. Director Krishna Uppoor briefed on the movie.
