Bellevision - Bahrain, Celebrates Annual Day

Bahrain, 22 February 2012: The Belle Vision - Bahrain held its annual day celebrations along with their families and guests at the Bang Sang Thai party hall. A crowd of over 200 attended the event. The program began at 6.00 p.m with the Introduction of the event by our own Master of Ceremony the Flamboyant Mr.John D’souza, followed by welcome Dance in Bharat Natyam by Ms. Jovita D’sa, Chief Guest Mr.Charles Demello President Konkan Singers Club, Bahrain inaugurated the event in a traditional way by lighting the lamp and cutting the cake along with Honorable guest Mr.Henry Almeida, executive committee member, Konkani Kutam, Bahrain and Bellevision, Bahrain executive Committee members.

In Presidential speech Mr. Joel D’sa welcomed the gathering and expressed his satisfaction for hosting various activities successfully for the past one year and expressed his gratitude for all the members for their hard work and dedication. General Secretary Mr.Ivan D’souza, read out the annual report to the gathering highlighting all the programs conducted during 2010-2011 of this committee.

During this special event a unique felicitation ceremony was conducted by Bellevision, Bahrain, to honor Mr. Lawrence Fernandes, a resident of Moodubelle parish, along with his wife Mrs Maria Fernandes. Mr. Lawrence Fernandes is known for his simplicity and honesty, and working in Bahrain for the past 34 years, they are blessed to have all their children, Daughter-in-law, Son-in-law & grand children with them here in Bahrain. He has helped many people to come to Bahrain and settle in life. It was a special day for them as they were honored by Shawl and Momento to mark the occasion by the Chief Guest and Guest of honor.  The felicitation was read out by Bellevision Vice President Mr. Francis Saldanha.

Chief Guest in his address applauded Bellevision for their hard work and bringing the Belle and surrounding parishes together in Bahrain, he also expressed his feelings and experiences, how can togetherness yield to positive outcomes in life. Main Sponsors, of the event Mr. Simon & Precilla Machado, Edward Noronha & fly, Anthony Dias & fly, Melwyn Sequeira & fly, Nelson Alva & fly, Shiva Kumar & fly, Subash Kini & fly, and many members who co-sponsored were honored for their support. The Managing Committee identified 4 exemplary Members for their contribution during 2010-2011 period and gave “Appreciation Awards”, they were, Mrs Marita Sequeira, Mr. John D’souza, Mr. Arun Castelino and Veera Fernandes. Appreciation certificates and Momento were awarded.

After the stage program the stage was handed over to the entertainment host Mrs Rashmi Fernandes, who briefed upcoming events the kept the crowd on their toes. Children entertained the crowd with dances to famous Konkani songs and Hindi dance numbers. Boys and Girls group gave hindi fusion dance and Dynabhai which completely floored the audience. Members also performed comedy skits and few dance numbers, of which the Arabic dance was, mesmerized the audience. Many other comedy skits and dances were the highlight of the evening. Raffle draw was held during every interval to keep the members interested with attractive valuable prizes

At the end Asst. General Secretary Mrs. Hilda D’sa thanked the crowd and everyone who made this event possible. During dinner time Entertainment Secretary Mr.Sunil D’sa gave away spot prizes. Besides these several complimentary Gifts were distributed to children who took part in Dancing, singing and skits. It was a spirited day in a cozy ambience fun and frolic where everyone went home with some useful gift and of course, memories of the day to cherish!
